These will build in content, so only the first class is suitable for beginners.

Its a great routine, filled with authentic jazz moves you can steal and pepper in later with your partner dancing, and also a joy to do as a group.
Dancing to the Shotgun Boogie by the Paul Tillotson Love Trio, we will break down the routine in our two hour workshop.

We will also run though the short solo jazz routine Rob choreographed for us to All the Cats Join In by Swingwagon!

This is going to be epic! The Out of the Blue Jazz Orchestra go head to head with Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats! They want this to be a predominantly dancer event, with the whole wooden floor area of Heswall Hall reserved for dancers. This is not one to miss!

The Strut is back, but not as you know it!
This 7/8 March we will be having Swing Dance Leeds’ fabulous Rob and Tina Shields over to teach balboa and lindy hop over two days for you. There will not be a social on the Friday night but we will organise a history tour for anyone who would like to go and be at the Architect pub on route for welcome games, etc.
Prices will be:
£95 - full pass, all classes and both socials
£75 - Lindy track, 4.5 hours of lindy, 1 hour solo jazz, and both socials
£55 - Balboa track, three hours of Balboa, 1 hour of solo jazz and both socials
£35 - social pass including bonus hour of solo jazz
Saturday night we will have the Gelatos playing for us, Sunday's tea dance will have Rusty and Helen.
The solo jazz class will be included on all passes and be immediately before the Saturday social. Rob is preparing a routine for us to SwingWagon's All The Cat's Join In, and we want everyone to be involved!

Two hour workshop on Partnered Charleston! Bush up on the basics we show you in our Sunday classes and push on to new and exciting content. Doors open at 10.15 so you can get settled before the start.
Charleston is one of the first swing dances, for more on the history please see the SwungOver website. It has lots of traditional shapes and rhythms, and is a whole lot of fun! Typically using kicks, pumps and jumps over triple steps.
We will expect some attendees to have some experience of Charleston previously, this workshop is not suitable for beginners.
£10 per person, unless you have signed up to our Jan-Mar term, in which case it is included for free!
Two hour workshop on Collegiate Shag! Brush up from last year’s Summer of Shag, but this workshop will also start with the basic footwork, so enthusiastic beginners are welcome to join at any point. Doors open at 10.15 so you can get settled before the start.

This year we have the Tune Steppers Jazz Band to play for us, this group knows exactly what dancers are looking for.
£12 per person, payable on the door.
Doors open at 7pm and there will be a taster class from 7.10-7.40. The band’s first set will start at 7.45.

The Shim Sham is an iconic solo jazz routine and beloved tradition at social dances worldwide. Simple, stylish, and packed with rhythm, the Shim Sham is your passport into the heart of swing dance culture. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned dancer, learning the Shim Sham is a joyful way to connect with the community.
The workshop will cost £10 on the door, card payments only
Our dance classes are returning on Sundays starting at 7pm in Hoole Community Centre. Foundation classes are from 7-7.45pm, with Swing+ classes following from 8-8.45pm

Week one of our six weeks of initiation to Collegiate Shag! All classes will still start with the basic footwork, and beginners are welcome to join at any point. Doors open at 6.45pm so you can get settled before the start.

Join us for a Swing+ two hour workshop on the famous California Routine!
This evening will only feature a workshop on this routine and no foundation class.
This is an intermediate routine which often forms the basis of lots of choreographed performances, all around the world. It was first featured in the movie Hellzapoppin, featuring Frankie Manning and Norma Miller, amongst others.
Familiarity with swing outs is essential, but the air-steps will be adapted to more grounded versions.
£10 a person.

In this workshop we will teach the beautiful routine created by Simone Brown.
This is a beginner friendly favourite that we tend to do at most socials, so you’ll be using it out in the wild regularly.
Even if you’ve done it before, there is always more to work on with solo jazz!

This is a fun but tricky routine, which is suitable for enthusiastic people who want to be stretched. Experience with at least one of the beginner strolls (Shim Sham, Jitterbug Stroll, Sing Lin Charleston Stroll or the Pencil Full of Lead Charleston Stroll) is heartily recommended.
We will also have some social time with a DJ’s set list from 3-4pm.
Tickets will be available on the door for £15 for the whole afternoon, or £5 just for the social.

We are going to get down and dirty with swing out techniques and fancy stuff - the content we always hope to get to in Swing+ classes but never do!
This workshop is for people who have been coming to intermediate classes for at least four months and absolutely have the lindy hop bug. We will be dealing with technique drills, flow, connection and styling. Not suitable for beginners, participants must be comfortable dancing at socials.
